Gregor is Not in Scotland’s End of Town.

Former Scotland international calls for Scotland Coach Gregor Townsend’s tenure to end after a crushing defeat.

Scotland threw away a dominant advantage over Argentina on Sunday after finishing the first half 21-0.

Finn Russell’s penalty gave Scotland their only second half points, with Los Pumas scoring five tries in an impressive comeback for a 24-33 win.

The result was a record breaking comeback win for the Argentines, and Scotland’s second defeat in a row, having suffered an equally crushing defeat against the All Blacks of New Zealand last week.

For many, Scotland’s Inability to close out these games is all the fault of Head Coach Gregor Townsend.

Former Scotland Fullback Ian G.S Smith said: â€śHe’s possibly lost the confidence of the country, and the dressing room.”

Townsend has been in the position for eight and a half years, having made the move to head coach on May 2017.

Since his appointment Scotland have had several milestone wins, including in 2021 when Scotland achieved their first win at Twickenham in 38 years.

Townsend has led the side through 94 tests, 53 Wins, 40 losses and 1 draw. Despite a win percentage of 56.4%, many feel that Townsend has taken the squad as far as he can.

Many fans feel frustration at the failure of Townsend’s Scotland to display serious international success, heralding that the players are being stunted by their current head coach.

With Scotland’s defence coach Steve Tandy having just left to take on the mighty job of Welsh Head Coach, could we see a complete restructure of Scotland’s coaching staff soon?

But, Ian Smith said: â€śIf he goes now, who replaces him?”
