#OnleyFans thrilled by the Scot’s switch to INEOS Grenadiers

Scottish road cyclist Oscar Onley has terminated his contract with Picnic PostNL prematurely and will join the INEOS Grenadiers team for the 2026 season.

The 23-year-old has put his name in the mix of the best in the world with a dream 2025 season that included a spectacular 4th place at the Tour De France.

Onley has ridden in the blue and orange of UCI World Team Picnic PostNL since 2023, on a four year contract following two years in their development squad. However, he has made the switch to the British based INEOS Grenadiers ahead of next season.

In a statement on Instagram, he said: “Moving up from the development programme to finishing fourth at the 2025 Tour De France has been an incredible journey and a real testament to what [Picnic PostNL] can bring out of its riders”

The young Scot’s new team, INEOS Grenadiers, has a rich history of success. Former Tour De France winners Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome, and Geraint Thomas all represented the team, with recently retired Thomas taking a new role as their Director of Racing.

Onley said: “For me, as a Brit, this really is a dream move. I’ve been a fan of INEOS Grenadiers and its predecessors ever since I was a child”

The Sport Scotland young athlete of the year has signed a long term deal with the team, who have been looking to recruit a general classification contender with the ambition to contest for the yellow jersey.

Onley said: “The chance to represent the team of my home country was one I couldn’t pass up.”

INEOS Grenadiers have shared an Instagram post welcoming Onley to their team, whilst Picnic PostNL have posted a heart warming tribute to the young talent. They thanked him for his time with the team and wished him luck for his future.

Picnic PostNL said: “Don’t worry… We will always be #OnleyFans.”

Onley will look to add his name to a growing list of British yellow jersey winners but will aim to be the first Scot to win the Tour De France as he begins his approach to the 2026 season in new colours.
